A new adventure!
In summer 2017, the Musilac Festival, which takes place on the shores of Lake Bourget, Aix-les-Bains, was celebrating its 15th birthday! Since its creation, the main stages of this renowned pop-rock festival (80,000 spectators) have been christened “Lake” and “Mountain”.
As Rhône-Alpes’ n°1 music event reaches the age of reason, so its co-founders Rémi Perrier and Roland Zennara, are delighted to announce the launch of Musilac Rock and ride … in the mountains!
And what a mountain… because it’s in Chamonix Mont-Blanc – a legendary destination if ever there was one – that this new pop-rock festival will host around fifteen bands, including three headline artists. The festival will take place in the Bois du Bouchet, best known for its paragliding landing site, with a capacity to welcome 15,000 spectators each evening.
With 4.7 million overnight stays a year and over 50% of foreign visitors, the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley (Servoz, les Houches, Chamonix, Argentière, Vallorcine) has been considered for decades, both in summer and winter, as world capital of the mountains.
Since 1924 and the organisation of the first Winter Olympic Games, Chamonix Mont-Blanc has been renowned for hosting major international sporting events, and more recently the destination has diversified to offer an inspiring cultural dimension.
In the wake of the Cosmojazz Festival (Chamonix, end of July) and the Electro Unlimited Festival (Chamonix, early April), the idea of creating a new event in Haute Savoie, in partnership with the team that has made Musilac so successful in the Savoie, should seduce all economic and institutional partners of this exceptional region. The ambition is to become the closing place of the ski season in the Alps.
By mixing ad lib, concerts, skiing, a step into the void at the Aiguille du Midi, a trip to the Mer de Glace, paragliding and much more, Musilac Mont-Blanc will undoubtedly offer one of the most beautiful Alpine playgrounds and one of the most majestic backdrops on the world stage.
